لذلك إذا لم يسبق لك الشراء عبر شبكة الإنترنت فإنه يمكنك اتباع النصائح التالية:

1- تجول قبل أن تشتري: الإنترنت هي أروع سوق عالمية يمكنك فيها مقارنة الأسعار بدلا من الخروج إلى الشارع والبحث في المحلات؛ حيث يمكنك شراء كل شيء تقريباً دون أن تترك منزلك؛ لذا تجول بين مواقع مختلفة تتضمن السلعة التي تريد شراءها لكي تحصل على ما تريده تماما، وبحيث تقارن الأسعار والمواصفات الخاصة بكل سلعة.

2- قرر الشراء من المواقع التي تحظى بسمعة طيبة أو تلك التي تعرفها، وحين تريد الشراء اقرأ بدقة شروط البيع، خاصة شروط التوصيل وشروط الاسترجاع، وبعض المواقع يوجد بها خانة للأسئلة التي يتكرر استعمالها، والتي لا بد من أن تراجعها إذا كان لديك أي تساؤل أو مشكلة.

3- استعمل دائما موقعا مؤمَّنا (secure website) يحافظ على بيانات وأرقام بطاقتك الائتمانية التي ستستعملها في الشراء، وتكون قادرا على تحديد ما إذا كان الموقع الذي تريد الشراء منه موقعا مؤمنا أم لا عندما ترى علامة قفل معدني صغير تظهر أمامك في أسفل الشاشة في الموقع الذي ستشتري منه، ويبدأ الموقع المؤمن عادة بأحرف https : بدلا من أحرف http : حيث يشير حرف "s" إلى موقع مؤمن (secure)، ويعني الموقع المؤمن أن معلومات وبيانات وأرقام بطاقتك الائتمانية تم إخفاؤها قبل أن ترسل عبر الإنترنت إلى موقع الشركة ولا يمكن لأحد الاطلاع عليها أو سرقة معلوماتها.

4- قبل إرسال معلوماتك إلى الموقع الذي ستشتري منه تأكد من صحة البيانات والأرقام الخاصة بقيمة مشترياتك وتفاصيل بطاقتك الائتمانية.

5- احتفظ بنسخة من أمر الشراء في كل مرة تشتري بها عبر الشبكة، وقم بطباعته مع الاحتفاظ بنسخة منه في القرص الصلب (Hard Drive)، وهذا الأمر ضروري عندما يكون عندك تساؤلات عن بضاعتك المشتراة أو عندما تحتاج إلى استبدالها، علما بأن العديد من الشركات ستقوم أيضاً بإرسال بريد إلكتروني لك يؤكدون من خلاله عملية الشراء؛ لذلك قم بطباعة هذه الرسالة الإلكترونية، واحتفظ بها.

6- لحماية نفسك بشكل كامل اتبع النصيحة الذهبية التالية: لا تعط أبدا تفاصيل وبيانات أرقام بطاقتك الائتمانية عبر البريد الإلكتروني أو عبر غرف المحادثة.

7- تذكر أن تقوم شهريًّا بمراجعة الكشف الخاص ببطاقة الائتمان لعمليات الشراء التي تتم عبر شبكة الإنترنت، ولا بد أن يكون واضحاً لك هنا أن أسماء بعض الشركات التي اشتريت منها قد يختلف أحياناً عن اسم موقعها على الإنترنت.

8- استعمل بطاقة ائتمانية واحدة فقط للشراء عبر الإنترنت، وخصصها لهذا الغرض حتى يسهل عليك اكتشاف أي محاولة لاستعمال بطاقتك، واحرص على أن يكون رصيد هذه البطاقة متماشيا مع قيمة مشترياتك عادة عبر الإنترنت.
