* البورصات الصاعدة:
هي أسواق للأوراق المالية، إما صغيرة الحجم، وإما أنه لم يمضِ تاريخ طويل على بدء تشغيلها بالمقارنة مع أسواق الأوراق المالية الرئيسية.

* المتفائلون بأداء السوق:
مؤيدو السوق الصاعدة: أشخاص أو شركات ذوو وجهة نظر متفائلة بشأن الأداء المتوقع للسوق بشكل عام أو لسهم معين، ويعتقد هؤلاء الأشخاص أو الشركات بأن السوق سوف تأخذ مجرى تصاعديا.

* المتشائمون بشأن أداء السوق:
مؤيدو السوق الهابطة: يطلق هذا اللفظ على الأشخاص أو الشركات الذين تكون لديهم توقعات سلبية بشأن أداء السوق بشكل عام، أو أداء سهم محدد. فالأشخاص أو الشركات المتشائمون بشأن أداء السوق (أو السهم) يعتقدون أنها ستأخذ منحنى تراجعيا.

ثالثا: الخبرة المتوفرة لدى مدير المحفظة ميزة لا يتمتع بها المستثمر الشخصي، كما أن الموارد المتاحة لمديري المحافظ غير ممكنة للمستثمرين العاديين، ومنها القدرة على زيارة هذه الشركات ودراسة أوضاعها المالية. وأخيرا يقوم مدير المحفظة بالإدارة الإدارية للمحفظة؛ الأمر الذي يعفي المستثمر من المتابعة اليومية للأعمال الورقية، هذه العوامل مجتمعة: التنويع، خفض التكلفة، والإدارة المؤهلة تجعل من المَحافظ الاستثمارية إحدى أفضل الوسائل للاستفادة من الاستثمار بالأسواق العالمية، ولكن ليس بالضرورة كل المحافظ تلائم المستثمرين.

* صناديق الأسواق المالية:
